Description

SBS CyberSecurity is looking for a Sr. Network Security Engineer. A Senior Network Security Engineer possesses a combination of extensive experience, advanced technical skills and relevant certifications. If you have the following qualifications, this job would be an excellent fit for you!

  • Experience and strong ability to use Penetration Testing distributions such as Kali Linux, and related peripheral hardware (antenna’s, etc). Or ability to create custom tools and scripts.

  • Knowledge of penetration testing methodologies such as PTES.

  • Deep understanding of security principles, policies and industry best practices.

  • Knowledge of NIST, ISO, PCI, GLBA and HIPAA a plus.

  • Knowledge and experience with security defensive countermeasures, both software and hardware, including antivirus, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, etc.

  • Experience with using and altering open-source software packages.

  • Experience in systems administration of Windows, Linux, BSD, etc.

  • Experience in testing and exploiting web applications specifically the OWASP top 10.

  • Understanding of wireless LAN protocols and various WLAN vulnerabilities and attacks.

  • Conceptual understanding of social engineering techniques such as phone pre-texting or e-mail phishing.

  • Proven ability to react constructively and positively in unexpected situations in front of a client.

  • Experience in popular programming languages and shell scripting a plus.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Professional appearance and behavior.

What to Expect

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct network, web application, wireless, and penetration tests using popular testing platforms including Kali, Metasploit, Burp Suite, etc.

  • Perform various social engineering testing (phone calls, phishing assessments, physical impersonations).

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, security audits, and risk assessments of complex systems.

  • Stay abreast of current network security concepts and attacks and incorporate them into our testing methodology.

  • Adhere to the established workflow standards and guidelines of the department.

  • Maintain clear and open lines of communication with clients while conducting services.

  • Utilize both enterprise and proprietary software solutions to manage and track progress of service assignments.

  • Complete work assignments according to prescribed service timelines.

  • Convey test results to non-technical executives and key management in a clear and easily understandable format.

  • Develop new audit work programs and continually evolve current programs.

  • Create additional value for clients through continual insights and consultative advice based on experience with the client, their industry, established standards, and leading practices.

  • Serve as a mentor for network security staff and new hires.

  • Create insightful content for Sales and Marketing teams (present webinars, blog articles, etc.)

  • Perform peer reviews of service work completed by other engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline.

  • 2-4 years proven industry experience.

  • Ability to perform ALL departmental services.

  • One or more advanced industry recognized certifications (OSCP, CISSP, GCIH, etc.).

Additional Details:

This is a full-time position. This role would require occasional travel. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. On rare occasions, this position may require some after-work hours due to workload or tight deadline.
