Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector. This position is onsite at our San Diego-North location. Facility located at 7919 St Andrews Ave, San Diego, CA 92154.Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our San Diego-North office and reports to our Quality Manager.Position Summary:Perform inspections, tests and reviews of materials, processes, and products to ensure compliance with requirements.Essential Function:Aerospace manufacturing experience required (AS9100).Lead inspector delegating assignments to the inspection team and making decisions when conflict arises.Perform detailed inspections of mechanical, metal and composite materials, parts and assemblies using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and mylars.Perform complete First Article Inspection (FAI) and generate documentation per AS9102. The ability to create AS9102 (form1, 2 & 3) and balloon requirements using DISCUS software is a plus.Perform final inspection, review customer requirements, and prepare documentation packages.Monitor production area processes and support in-process inspection requirements.Generate clear and concise written descriptions of inspection results, change requests to work instructions, and record accurate and concise descriptions of nonconforming conditions.Proficient in interpreting mechanical/composite drawings and specifications.Perform receiving inspection of materials and parts outsourced for special processing.Perform internal audits and participate on cross-functional improvement teams.Articulating Arm or CMM inspection experience using Verisurf a plus.Non-Essential Functions: Other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience: Aerospace manufacturing experience of at least 5 years.Proficiency with visual and dimensional inspections using hand tools (Calipers, Height Gauges)Proficient in interpreting mechanical/composite drawings, blueprints and specifications.Experience performing in-process, final and receiving inspections and related activities.Experience with aerospace composite parts fabrication (Preferred).Experience with Articulating Arm Inspections and Verisurf (Romer Arm, Faro Arm) (Preferred).Experience with NADCAP and AS9100(Preferred).Perks and Benefits: 100% Employer Paid Medical and DentalAnnual Bonus401K - 5% matchEmployee Stocks Option Program9/80 work schedule8- paid HolidaysPTO: Max. 4-weeks after 5 years of employment$2,500 tuition reimbursementCompensation:The hourly range for this position falls within $20-$29.
