ORANGE GROVE CENTER is Hiring a Nurse Manager Near Chattanooga, TN

WORK SUMMARY: LPN Office Manager will demonstrate positive leadership in team

environment to provide quality health care to all patients utilizing a

person-centered approach. This is a new position and duties will

change and emerge. But below highlights examples of this

Manager’s responsibilities:

1) Working with the Scheduler and team, ensures

accurate and timely flow of appointment through

the clinic.

2) Ensures supplies are purchased, secured and available in exam rooms and clinic. Works within budget and in conjunction with the Healthcare Director to obtain supplies and equipment. Maintains ongoing inventory.

3) Ensures all dates supplies have current dates and disposes of expired items per healthcare protocol.

4) Oversees clinical paperwork and regularly audits documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

5) Participates in documenting SOAP notes, progress notes and any necessary reporting needs.

6) Assists with comfortably positioning patients and addressing their emotional needs as pertinent to the clinic visit. Utilizes and demonstrates proper lifting body mechanics.

7) Assess patients as needed, including walk-ins who do not have a primary care provider.

8) Complete vision and hearing screenings, take vital signs, obtain height and weight prior to

the providers’ seeing patients and ensure all required paperwork is attached to the chart, i.e., current Medication Administration Record (MAR), etc.

9) Complete procedures, treatments and follow-up as ordered by the providers/physicians.

10) Assist with exams.

11) Maintain patient confidentiality.

12) Obtain and process labs. Communicate with conservators, families, and staff.

13) Responds to all emergency codes are and/or ensures appropriate nursing staff respond to all emergencies without hesitation.

14) Make referrals as needed.

15) Ensure consult paperwork is completed accurately and timely and that consults are retrieved and followed up on completely and timely.

16) Assists with billing and ensures the clinic utilizes and documents appropriate codes. Re-routes any needed corrections to the appropriate practitioner.

17) Serves as liaison with venders, Healthcare Billing Services, Pulmonaire, etc.

18) Ensures policies, protocols, and procedures are followed.

19) Ensure clinic is safe, clean, sanitized and stocked, and participate in these activities as needed. Reports any unsafe conditions immediately.

20) Serves as the clinic’s OSHA manager and takes lead in all Quality Improvement planning and implementation.

21) Provides timely and professionally communication with other departments, Orange Grove staff, families and conservators to relay provider/nursing action and/or results.

22) Mentors and demonstrates promptness, responsiveness, quality and professionalism in all interactions. Ensure clinic appropriately represents these characteristics and has a stellar reputation.

23) Works with administration to develop needed systems and accountability. Attends meetings and consults as needed.

24) Provides medical oversite and communication, and serves as an advocate and educator for patients, staff and families.

25) Monitors and trends patient conditions such as diabetes, communicable diseases, DNR status.

26) Administer medications as ordered and according to polices.

27) Provide effective supervision and accountability to direct reports. Confirm and approve time off. Participate in hiring and performance discipline as needed.

EDUCATION: LPN required; Bachelor’s preferred

PHYSICAL

REQUIRMENTS: Good overall physical health and personal stamina. Physical

Examination, including TB skin test or chest x-ray is required prior to

employment. Must be able to perform all physical duties including

bending, stooping, working at desk, working at various computer kiosks,

walking and standing on concrete floors, assisting with lifting of patients,

to include operating lift equipment, and operating other medical

equipment. Must pass ongoing drug screenings.

SUPERVISORY

REQUIREMENTS: Reports to the Healthcare Director. Supervises nursing and clerical

staff who work in the clinic.

OTHERREQUIREMENTS: Maintenance of Tennessee LPN License required. Maintenance of

CPR certification required. Minimum of two years as an LPN with

clinically relevant experience required. Experience with disabilities

preferred. Must have knowledge of and demonstrate technical

competency in medical nursing procedures, first aid, and basic

principles of nursing. Experience in intellectual and

developmental disabilities and presenting co-occurring disorders.

Must become knowledgeable of both Orange Grove and regulatory

oversight agencies’ policies, protocols, and procedures and will

participate in writing and implementing policies, protocols and

procedure. Computer competency required.
