Mountain Cement Company is Hiring a Manager Maintenance Near Laramie, WY

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for guiding all repair and maintenance activities throughout MCC operations while complying with all applicable safety and environmental regulations and or MCC policies at all times. This individual must be a leader capable of directing others to meet/exceed defined goals. This person must be knowledgeable of all aspects of cement manufacturing, equipment maintenance/operations, and have a clear understanding of the rules and regulations effecting product or governing employee safety/management. The Maintenance Manager must promote environmental/safety compliance and be capable of communicating fundamental beliefs and principals of the organization to all employees.

Basic qualification and/or traits that the MCC Maintenance Manager must possess include:

  1. A satisfactory knowledge of all aspects of cement manufacturing.
  2. A thorough knowledge of heavy equipment and machinery troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
  3. Excellent organizational skills to facilitate completion of repair/replacement activities on time and within budget constraints.
  4. Leadership; must lead by example and be capable of motivating others.
  5. Integrity and ethical behavior beyond reproach.
  6. Must possess good communication skills; writing, speaking, listening, etc.
  7. Proficient in establishing goals that are clear, well defined, and measurable. Must be able to communicate these objectives clearly to subordinates, and provide feedback/appraisals to ascertain if the objectives are being met.
  8. Must possess good decision making skills based upon the ability to accurately identify problems, collect relevant information/data, and generate cost-effective solutions.
  9. Must be capable of handling stress associated with job duties, deadlines, and personnel interactions.
  10. Capable of maintaining appropriate and constructive responses under all circumstances.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Maintenance Manager is accountable for all aspects of MCC repair and maintenance. This individual’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Compliance with all MSHA, Federal, State, and local safety rules/regulations, and/or observance of MCC policies at all times. Procedures and performance of activities may vary as conditions change (i.e. changing weather conditions, operational status of mechanical equipment changes, etc.).
  2. Compliance with all Federal, State, and local environmental rules and regulations at all times.
  3. Meeting or exceeding MCC targets while complying with corporate objectives, values, structures, and goals.
  4. Providing leadership that establishes clear goals for subordinates that are measurable and well defined. The Maintenance Manager is accountable for communicating these goals to his subordinates, and providing feedback/guidance so that the goals can be met.
  5. Problem solving including the ability to accurately identify problems, development of cost effective corrective actions, delegating responsibility of performance of actions to subordinates, and holding subordinates accountable for job/task performance.
  6. Clear communication of priorities/goals/objectives to all maintenance department employees to provide definitive direction.
  7. A sense of urgency that impresses a direct personal involvement and supervision when upset conditions in operations, unplanned failures of process equipment, and any other abnormal situations deem it necessary to assure the goal of meeting plant safety and customer demand.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: The Maintenance Manager will have a formal and/or technical education along with previous management or engineering experience.

  1. A B.S. degree in physical engineering science is desirable; however, demonstrated oral and written communication skills along with Microsoft Office products and general computer proficiency is most important
  2. Appropriate experience in a management or supervision position, or engineering capacity.
  3. Technical schooling or demonstrated experience in areas of equipment repair and/or maintenance is mandatory.
  4. Technical schooling in areas of cement process is considered beneficial as well as training in computer systems/operations and human relations.
