Become a Social Media Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and be a part of our dynamic social media team to help create a narrative to support the clean energy future. As a member of Corporate Communications & Philanthropy’s Social Media team, you will be responsible for creating content to drive social engagement, including planning and creative assets such as video, graphics and photography to help customer, media and brand awareness campaigns. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, social media savvy professional who has the desire to be innovative and take chances. You will design, engage and connect with our social media base in collaboration with the rest of the social media team.

You will write posts for all platforms as well as deliver multimedia and visual content for SCE social media channels and ensure that content is coordinated, relevant and effective in communicating key enterprise messages. In addition, you will work closely with the larger media team as well as collaborating with internal and external partners.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

• Manage and execute social media strategic content plan to support the company’s key initiatives as well as policy advocacy, amplification of earned media on social platforms.
• Support company’s clean energy, transportation electrification, public safety – including wildfire mitigation - efforts with paid and organic social campaigns and reports.
• Write and amplify executive announcements on LinkedIn.
• Provide consulting to internal business partners on governance for social media and provide employee training.
• Provide data metrics on campaign performance and work with stakeholders to refine messaging.
• Lead the oversight of Instagram and X. This includes defining their effectiveness to be the company’s hyper-local channels for reaching customers with critical communications and training and governance for multiple users.
• Lead content production including multimedia video, graphics and photos – including making informed recommendations.
• Support crisis communications activities and serve as part of the on-call social media team to support company communications outside of “traditional” business hours.

The essentials

• Seven or more years of experience in the field of digital marketing, social media and/or communications.
• Experience with paid and organic social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, Reddit, TikTok, X and/or YouTube.

The preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business or related field.
• A track record of identifying and implementing process improvements within a complex, fast-paced environment.
• Experienced in communicating across different levels of the company such as customers, clients, colleagues and executives.
• Strategic problem solver; self-starter; high degree of creativity to find new ways to achieve team goals.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Experience using Sprout Social.

You should know

• This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
