Toyoda Gosei North America (headquartered in Troy, MI) has an opening for an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist in the EHS department with a focus on Environmental efforts.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource in Environmental and Carbon Neutrality strategies & vision through the TG AMC EHS departments and Carbon Neutrality Working Group.
• Evaluate improvement proposals for process & site equipment, and provide recommendations for improvement / promotion.
• Collaborate with AMC leadership to develop Environmental assessment tools, action plans, and develop consolidated trend reports as needed
• Serve as a resource to site leadership in the incident investigation reporting & countermeasure development processes
• Collect data and provide summary & analysis of site Environmental activity; distribute to global HQ as needed.
• Prepare, improve, and share Environmental best practices
• Contribute to the development / implementation of Environmental programs, policies and procedures
• Maintain an awareness of site activities and Environmental compliance as it relates to local and federal regulations.
• Serve as a resource in internal audits / assessments for Environmental reporting to internal & external entities; including TG customers.
• Stay abreast of changes in the Environment regulations, laws, and company policies; recommend changes and / or improvements to maintain compliance, with an emphasis on company core objectives

Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor of Science or Administration
• Minimum of one year working in a manufacturing organization is required
• Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and relevant legislation is required
• Demonstrable ability to utilize data to identify problems and initiate corrective actions is required
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office is required
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
• Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation and written communication skills are required
• Ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism in interacting with internal and external customers is required
• Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills is required
