Marcus Hotels & Resorts is Hiring a Maintenance Technician Near Madison, WI
To repair and maintain hotel equipment and building systems to provide a safe and comfortable environment for guests and employees. To answer guest complaints and communicate with guests and associates.
Essential Functions
- Provide great service while assisting hotel guests with maintenance issues such as minor heating/cooling concerns, plumbing problems, internet/TV connectivity, etc. Prioritize guest requests and repair items as needed.
- Conduct daily inspections of hotel (Light fixtures, carpeting, general maintenance, and repairs as needed.)
- Do general maintenance outside of hotel (Landscaping, shoveling, light fixtures, and repair as needed.)
- Inspect swimming pool area daily (Chemical levels, temperature, pumps, and cleanliness.)
- Be available by radio to answer emergency calls promptly.
- Inspect fire alarms/ fire extinguishers regularly. Respond to all alarms when on property in order to determine the cause, and react accordingly.
- Work closely with front desk and housekeeping associates on daily tasks and special projects.
- Communicate professionally & effectively with other associates, guests and vendors.
- Conduct safe and careful use of equipment.
- Use materials and equipment appropriately to avoid waste and unnecessary repairs.
- Create and maintain a safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned
- Previous experience with general repair preferred
- Ability to use all general repair tools
- Ability to use ladders and lift heavy items
- Ability to read simple drawings and specifications Must be able to perform basic math
- High School education or equivalent.
- Must be able to clearly communicate in English
