SANITATION DEPARTMENT MANAGER

Overview:

JCSI, a recruiting consulting company has partnered with Boar's Head to help them fill a key role in their Jarratt VA plant. Boar's Head is a leading food production company that is dedicated to producing high-quality food products and maintaining a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. The Sanitation Department Manager will play a crucial role in coordinating the activities of the plant to include meat manufacturing, sanitation and distribution. This position will have a significant impact on the overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of 1st shift Sanitation department and manufacturing operations for the plant.
• Ensure all production requirements are met and establish distributor/customer total satisfaction
• Build and maintain an effective supervisory team.
• Exercises good leadership and communication skills.
• Analyze operation on a continual basis to improve costs, quality and service.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team and build an effective relationship with internal and external customers.
• Actively participate in the research, justification, and implementation in long-range planning of the facility.
• Ensure all sanitary, quality and consistency requirements are met in area of responsibility.
• Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of Total Quality Management (TQM) process.
• Actively participate in capital expenditure requisitioning process, budgeting and goal setting.
• Ensure required preventive maintenance is being performed on all department equipment.

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of plant sanitation experience within food or beverage manufacturing
• Previous supervisory or management experience required
• Familiarity with Hazard Analysis Control Critical Process (HACCP) and procedures
• English/Spanish bilingual a plus
• Bachelor's degree a plus

$85k-$90k - commensurate with experience
