Kaufman Lynn Construction is Hiring a Quality Control Manager Near Delray Beach, FL

Job Summary:Seeking a diligent and experienced Construction Quality Control Manager to oversee all aspects of quality assurance and quality control within our construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, strong managerial and leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies and industry regulations. This role requires effective communication with project teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control plans for KL construction projects, including inspection procedures, testing protocols, and documentation requirements. Monitor documentation on each project.
  • Audit project QA/QC records and efforts.
  • Manage project QA/QC staff, if any, in accordance with established policies.
  • Ensure products and materials are utilized or installed within manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits of inspections and construction sites to assess workmanship, materials, and adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to address quality-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and contractual documents to identify quality requirements and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance reports.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams and subcontractors on quality control processes, procedures, and best practices, including software use.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and third-party inspectors to obtain necessary permits and certifications and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Investigate and analyze root causes of quality-related problems and recommend the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks and improve overall project quality.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, trends, and best practices in construction quality control and incorporate new methodologies and technologies as appropriate.
  • Participate in project meetings, reviews, and presentations to provide updates on quality control status, issues, and recommendations.
  • Work with preconstruction teams to evaluate constructability of plans and design, consultants, and industry standards. Critical eye on potential product failure, improper design details, incompatible components, workmanship, sequencing, etc.
  • Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) over time to benchmark and monitor individual projects as well as companywide QA/QC efforts.
  • Attend manufacturer training and construction industry conferences to keep up with new product offerings, industry updates, and trends.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (or experience/certifications equivalent) in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Bilingual abilities would be an asset, both reading and speaking predominant languages (English/Spanish).
  • Minimum of five years of experience in managing construction quality control programs or a similar role, with a proven verifiable track record of managing quality on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques, as well as industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASTM, ACI).
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Procore, Outlook, Word, Excel, and other programs for quality control documentation and reporting.
  • Proficiency in reading construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
  • Certifications such as Certified Construction Quality Manager (CCQM) or equivalent are preferred.
