Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Fire and Security Alarm Installation Technician to join our team!

Job Description:This position installs new security and fire systems and to add new equipment to existing security systems. The incumbent must also prepare paperwork for programming of new and existing security systems.
  • Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.
  • Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
  • Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.
  • Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, or cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, positioning and terminating cables, wires, or strapping.
  • Keep an orderly vehicle and accurate inventory stock levels.
  • Various projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Technical school training and/or certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of technician experience within the alarm and fire industry.
  • Minimum of 1 year of field installation experience.
  • IT and Networking experience preferred.
  • Must have flexibility to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Suite (intermediate Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Telecommunications - Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
  • Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing that there is a problem.
  • An acceptable driving and criminal history record.
Physical Requirements:
  • Alarm technicians must be able to lift, carry, and use heavy equipment (such as ladders).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or drive for long periods of time.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
