Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The primary role of the Material Handler is to move and receive product in the warehouse and to and from production areas. This job requires working with inbound transportation as well as with many departments within the organization. Operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely is vital to the success of this role. The ideal candidate is a team player with prior warehouse experience and a continuous improvement mindset. This position in located in Waunakee, WI.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

1: Receiving and Inspecting Materials

• Receive, unload, and inspect inbound shipments of products and goods
• Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing list
• Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the Warehouse Manager and/or Procurement Department
• Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records of all material movements and transactions
• Use inventory management software to update and track inventory levels
• Serve as the primary contact for material issues within the organization

2: Material Handling and Delivery

• Move materials within the warehouse and production areas as needed
• Accurately issue, count and pull product from the warehouse locations for delivery to various production areas
• Collaborate with production departments to meet production needs
• Review production schedules to ensure effective delivery of materials
• Maintain an organized work area to allow for effective processing

Other Job Duties:

• Pick and pack fulfillment orders
• Inventory and cycle count product as instructed
• Clean warehouse, shipping and receiving areas
• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Skills & Educational Requirements:

• Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Ability to multi-task
• Basic computer literacy
• Ability to work under pressure
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Prior shipping and transportation experience desirable
• Warehousing experience in a high paced production environment desirable

Physical Requirements:

• Constantly stand and/or move around
• Constantly operate forklifts, reach trucks and pallet jacks to move, pick or put away product
• Frequently lift up to 40 pounds
• Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds
• Occasionally bend
• Occasionally squat or kneel
• Comfortable working at heights of up to five racks
