Puyallup Tribal Health Authority is Hiring an Early Childhood Home Visiting RN (part-time) Near Tacoma, WA

Description

PUYALLUP TRIBAL HEALTH AUTHORITY, located in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) Early Childhood Home Visiting Registered Nurse (RN). This position is grant funded. The Early Childhood Home Visiting RN provides case management services to mothers and their infants.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assess physical, emotional, social and environmental needs of women and their families, and assist women and their families in establishing goals and outcomes. Formulate nursing diagnosis based on nursing assessment and client goals.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships; utilize concepts of reflection and motivational interviewing with women and their families in a home visiting environment.
  • Provide education, support and referral resources in assisting women and their families in attaining their targeted goals.
  • Develop and maintain community relationships to support client referrals and as requested/required.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and recognize accomplishments of team members.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of client records within 48 hours.
  • Participate in review and analysis of reports for achievements and areas for improvement, including quality improvement efforts.
  • Responsible for planning and organizing work activities to meet established objectives.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of public health and maternal/child health nursing principles and practices, including community health problems, care preventive measures, community resources, and family-centered nursing.
  • Responsible for analyzing, compiling, recording, and assessing data, i.e., nursing plans of action, medical records, etc.
  • Ability to plan, organize and utilize teaching principles in working with families, clients, schools, and other community organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in Home Health, Maternal Care, or related field.
  • Current BLS certification required. ACLS and PALS certification required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Experience working with an Electronic Medical Health Record system.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and provide valid driving abstract.
