This is an entry-level position in Parks Maintenance. The ideal candidate is someone who would like to get some work experience and while doing so, they can be part of our amazing team that provides great recreational opportunities for our community and those who visit our parks and facilities.
We are looking to fill some immediate openings and will continue to fill openings through the spring and summer season.
Upcoming Projects:Our Parks Maintenance team maintains 35 parks including the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex. In the past year we have added Hidden Creek Park West, Reed’s Crossing Park, the Reed’s Crossing greenway, and phase 2 at Butternut Creek Park which includes off-leash dog parks and a bicycle skills area. The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform a variety of maintenance duties specific to functional area of assignment. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with assigned supervisors, other City employees, and the general public. The principal duties of this class are performed in an outdoors environment with possible exposure to a variety of terrains and weather conditions. This is a non-exempt position.

here.• Maintains facilities in a clean and safe condition, including picking up trash and maintaining trash receptacles, cleaning and repairing restrooms, and removing graffiti as necessary;
• Maintains park appearance, including trimming, edging, and watering lawns and other landscaped areas as required;
• Assists with events at various sites, including ensuring customers and spectators are following park and facility rules, and opening and closing facilities at appropriate times as required.
• Observes safe work methods and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required;
• Operates a variety of hand tools related to work assignment as instructed;
• Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly condition;
• Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems;
• Responds to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner;
• Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities;
• Performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.

• Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
