Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of machinery, equipment, and the overall facility. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure safe and efficient operations. 

Key Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure continuous operation and prevent breakdowns. Adhere to standardized diagnostic approaches for preventive maintenance, system troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and electrical circuits.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. Repairs, maintains, replaces, installs, and tests a variety of equipment, including electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment, mechanical systems, pneumatics/hydraulic systems, facility maintenance, and welding. Inspects equipment and diagnoses trouble or malfunctions, analyzes equipment failures, determines cause, and makes necessary adjustments.
• Safety Awareness: Takes responsibility for his or her own safety as well as the safety of others. Maintains a constant awareness of the community’s condition and immediately takes action to correct unsafe circumstances. Understands the proper processes/equipment in the department. Knowledge of PPE usage, 5S, and all safety regulations in the facility. Responsible for maintaining overall cleanliness of the working area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
• Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain the facility’s infrastructure, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building repairs. Walks the grounds and common interior areas daily, removing litter and debris from lawns, planting beds, parking areas, sidewalks, ramps, and indoor spaces.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and team members to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance technician role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
