We are looking for a Certified Financial Planner to learn our planning process and help support our members (clients) and planning team. We are a fee-only fiduciary who specializes in helping people with more than $3 million simplify retirement complexity with a focus on coordinating investments, taxes and legacy planning.
Zynergy is rooted in purpose, collaboration, and accountability. We hold ourselves to a high standard while working together towards shared success. Above all, we operate as a top-performing tea, celebrating wins together and taking responsibility for the impact we have on each other and those we serve.
Position Overview
As a Lead Planner, you play a central and valued role in the lives of our members (clients). You’ll spend more than 60% of your time with the individuals and families you serve, building meaningful relationships, understanding what matters most to them, and guiding them toward the financial future they envision.
In this role, you will create comprehensive financial plans, manage portfolios, lead member relationships, learn to close prospective clients and provide ongoing advice that adapts as member needs, goals, and market conditions evolve. Your commitment to personal connection and high-quality service helps members feel confident, supported, and truly understood.
While you will work with members on your own, we do work as a team. You will be supporting the Senior Planner on their member relationships and train/mentor our associate planner.
These positions may cultivate new member referrals through offering a high-level of service to existing members, but they are not required to develop new member relationships through business development and/or marketing channels. You will be responsible for leading prospective member meetings using our firm’s process.
To thrive here, you will be ready to work with members from day one and will bring strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and a genuine passion for helping people make smart, values-aligned financial decisions.
Responsibilities include:
· Conduct Regular Member Meetings: Schedule and hold annual/semiannual review meetings to review and discuss changes in member situations.
· Educate Members: Explain complex financial concepts in understandable terms to help members make informed decisions.

· Financial Planning: Help members plan by assessing needs, recommending solutions, and creating financial strategies in all key areas, including Cash Flow, Budgeting, Retirement Planning, Investments, Estate Planning, Tax Planning, Education Planning, and Risk Management.
· Collaborate with Other Professionals: Work with tax advisors, estate planners, and other financial professionals to provide comprehensive advice.
· Support Senior Planners: Assist in behind the scenes planning work and sit in on any meetings with member that will be transitioned to you.
· Train Junior Planners: Assist in the training of planners’ junior to your role.
Skills and knowledge requirements:
· Financial Expertise: In-depth knowledge of financial planning, investment strategies, retirement planning, tax laws, and estate planning.
· Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data, assess risk, and develop effective financial strategies.
· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to explain complex financial concepts clearly to members.
· Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills to establish trust and rapport with members, understanding their needs and goals.
· Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify financial issues and develop creative solutions tailored to members' unique situations.
· Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with financial planning software, investment platforms, and other technology tools to enhance efficiency and service quality. At Zynergy we use Salesforce, eMoney, and Orion/Eclipse. Previous experience with these platforms would be useful, but is not required.
Experience and education requirements:
- Certifications: CFP Designation
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or relevant field; additional professional certifications are a plus.
- Experience: 10 years of experience in financial planning or advisory roles, with a proven track record of working directly with clients.
