Senior Licensing Analyst

Washington, District of Columbia, United States | ZG Gaming | Full-time | Fully remote

Apply

ZG Gaming Solutions, a non-law-firm affiliate of ZwillGen PLLC, is looking for a Senior Licensing Analyst who is eager for a challenge and ready to support the growth of our company. ZG Gaming provides gaming licensing management services to companies in and around the growing U.S. regulated gaming sector - particularly sports betting, online casino gaming, and fantasy sports. We are building a robust, technology-enabled licensing management program to support our clients’ growing needs and are looking for motivated individuals eager to expand the company’s operational capacity.

About The Role

Our Senior Licensing Analysts serve as substantive experts and project managers while working collaboratively with other analysts and attorneys to manage the lifecycle of applying for, securing, and maintaining gaming-related licenses on behalf of our clients across numerous different states. Specific responsibilities and opportunities for someone in this role are likely to grow over time, shaped by our clients’ needs as well as the skillsets and interests of our hires.

This role requires an intuitive, analytical person who has an ability to apply existing and learned knowledge about business, compliance, and financial topics, and is comfortable learning and deploying new tools for project and knowledge management. Attention to detail and taking responsibility for the quality of work are critical, given that our work product undergoes careful scrutiny by government regulators and is material to our clients’ businesses.

The technology-centric nature of our clients and work requires comfort with software/web applications and the ability to self-teach and explore new project management and collaboration tools. The role also requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills and sound judgment, as projects require working directly with client executives, attorneys, and state regulators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review application forms and exhibits, identifying substantive errors and omissions based on a knowledge database and reference documents
  • Manage the overall lifecycle of numerous simultaneous licensing projects, including assigning tasks to other analysts, reviewing work product, managing timeframes and deadlines, and ensuring proper procedures and documentation
  • Communicate with corporate clients and individual applicants in connection with regulatory licensing applications, including managing the overall client relationship
  • Research and document state regulatory requirements for gaming licenses, ranging from broad scoping guidelines to specific instructions
  • Participate in the development and ongoing improvement of our internal protocols and systems for managing license application workflows

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of 3-5 years prior experience in a professional environment, preferably a role involving regulated gaming compliance, project management, legal/compliance documentation, or similar
  • Excellent attention to detail, identifying errors and omissions in work product, procedural adherence, and client-provided materials
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including review and revision or others’ drafts
  • Ability to learn new technologies and processes, with willingness to experiment and self-teach
  • Robust computer skills with emphasis on Adobe Acrobat, Word, project management tools, web applications, and additional specialized software
  • Ability to work standard business hours with some flexibility for overtime, as necessary
  • Strongly preferred qualifications (at least one of the below):
    • Prior experience with regulatory license applications, including gathering information, correspondence with regulators, and follow-up investigations
    • Basic project management training or experience, including adherence to established procedures and communication with a variety of stakeholders
Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time

Location

Ideal candidates: Washington D.C. office on a Hybrid work model (in-office 2-3 days per week).

Fully remote candidates will also be considered.
