What kind of talent do we pursue?
Zutari is hiring overhead power line engineers with experience designing and implementing lines from 11 kV to over 400 kV. Position level (junior to senior) will depend on the candidate's experience.
Candidates should have relevant experience in aspects of overhead power line design.
- Zutari's Transmission and Distribution Energy Unit in is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Technologist to join the team and provide assistance and guidance on a range of projects relating to the design and implementation of Transmission and Distribution projects.
- The candidate should have experience in detailed overhead power line design in the utility and/or renewable energy projects in Africa. This is a great opportunity to join an engineering consultancy focused on delivering engineering solutions that enhance the lives of individuals across the globe.
- The candidate will also be responsible for building meaningful relationships with local and transactional clients across borders and closer to office
Minimum Requirements:
- B.Eng or B.Sc or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (SA)
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Professional registration or in the process of applying
- Experience in Transmission and Distribution related projects
- Excel, Word
- PLS-CADD experience
- Basic Microstation / Autocad skills
Key Technical Requirements:
- PLScadd profiling
- PLSpole monopole design
- PLStower lattice tower design
- Overhead line specification compilation
- Report writing
- Compile BOMs, reports and engineering calculations.
- Data extraction and compilation such as sag & tension charts, staking tables
- Understanding overhead power line design principles
- Understanding of pairing foundations with tower loads
- Selecting hardware and defining specifications
- Interpret standards and implement calculation formulas in excel
Beneficial Technical Requirements:
- CAD drawing ability (Autocad or microstation)
- Construction experience on the implementation of OHLs
- Conductor optimisation analysis
- Project management skills including schedules in MS Projects.
