Underwriter - Multinational Middle Market

Zurich is currently looking for an experienced Underwriter - Multinational to join our team in the Central Region. This position will focus on Middle Market Multinational business and work out of one of the following office locations: Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, Overland Park, KS or St. Louis, MO. While this position will be based out of one of these locations, you will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis being in office 3 days a week. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you, our customers, and our brokers and agents.

As a member of Zurich's Underwriting Team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your underwriting and marketing skills. Specifically, you will underwrite and analyze new and renewal Multinational Casualty accounts. This is a market facing position and you will be expected to be visible in the marketplace 10-15% of the time.

Responsibilities:

• Underwriting, analyzing, and generating new and renewal business
• Market facing and production within the Middle Market Multinational division
• Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules
• Developing and maintaining agency and broker relationships in the Central Region
• Working within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments
  
  

Underwriter – Multinational Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in the Insurance or Market Facing area. OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
• Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Multinational experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Microsoft Office experience
  
  

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $95,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
