Pricing Actuary

Zurich North America Technical Underwriting is looking for a Pricing Actuary to join our Financial Lines Business unit, focusing on Management Liability pricing. This role can be based in any Zurich North America office (including Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois, our lower Manhattan location in New York City, or our Overland Park, Kansas office).

The Pricing Actuary supports the pricing of new and renewal business as well as the development of effective premium/rating structures and strategies in support of business objectives. Management Liability pricing is an exciting area to be part of, where you will have:

• Develop and improve pricing models by calibrating rates to align with risk and improve model result
• Support Market Facing and Technical Underwriters on pricing decisions
• Improve portfolio monitoring, develop effective premium / rating structures, and support overall strategies and work that goes into meeting and exceeding the Specialty Lines Management Liability Pricing Team objectives
• May oversee the work of less experienced actuaries.
  
  

Basic Qualifications:

• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree OR Bachelor’s Degree AND
• 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification OR
• 10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and knowledge/skills reflective of a senior practitioner
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
  
  

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $213,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
