We are looking to bring on a talented Account Executive to join our team.

This role is based in Brooklyn, NY (hybrid, in office 3 days/week)

A bit about Z.A.K. New York…

We are a full-service creative agency, launched in NYC summer of 2022, to bring the independent and irreverent spirit of Fighting Sameness to the US market (Z.A.K. has existed in Toronto since 2008, and in Vancouver since 2022). 

While we are new to NYC and have a start-up vibe, our team has years of collective experience building best-class-brands at top NY agencies, with the backing and support of a 170-person office in Canada.  All that to say, our structure is intentionally flat with hands-on leadership – and the benefit of joining Z.A.K. New York at this stage is all of our employees have the opportunity to shape our DNA, including the way we work and the work we put out into the world. Core responsibilities of the Account Executive role include:

  • Day-to-day point of contact for client and internal team, the AE must develop maintain trusting, professional, and respectful relationships
  • Responsible for admin tasks associated with client presentations – building decks with inputs Strategy Account leads, proofreading, management of scheduling/meeting logistics, conference reports, etc.
  • Manages internal and external concept approvals; demonstrates ability to evaluate creative ideas against the brief and works to sell through evolving concepts and campaigns 
  • Collaborates with the Strategy and Creative teams to develop strong agency creative briefs for smaller initiatives based on client’s initial brief
  • Supports in large scale productions across digital/interactive and traditional above the line (broadcast, social, print, OOH, etc.) initiatives; ability to manage smaller-scale production initiatives independently 
  • Problem solves potential timing, casting and budgetary concerns for production
  • Ability to collaborate and cultivate relationships with agency partners and multiple client functions beyond core marketing team
  • Ownership of account administration, such project/production timelines, budget management, share drive management, creation of estimates and issuing P.O.s, traffic instructions, copy decks, contact reports, etc.
  • Developing weekly status report/meetings and authors conference reports to distribute across clients and multiple agency partners to ensure cohesive collaboration
  • An expert on the client’s brand, category, and competition; researches and authors competitive reports/POVs as added value for the client
  • Responsible for direct reports professional development and performance reviews (AAEs/interns depending on team structure)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in advertising creative agency
  • An amazing relationship builder who is entrepreneurial in spirit – we want a champion of creative thinking who embraces a challenge
  • Ability to work under pressure and rally team to meet deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment – independently takes initiative with thorough follow-up ability  
  • Understands fundamentals of Digital and Broadcast Production and has an appetite to explore “never been done before” initiatives 
  • Incredibly well organized, collaborative, receptive to change, laser focused on detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google suite
  • From time to time, after hours work and overnight traveling to meetings, shoots and/or post sessions may be required 

Compensation for this role ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 USD, depending on experience.

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
