The Role
The National Account Manager will play a key role in managing and growing one of Zulay Kitchen’s most strategic retail partnerships, including Walmart. Reporting to the Director of Wholesale & Partnerships, this role is responsible for driving revenue, profitability, distribution, and omni-channel growth across assigned categories.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for the customer, while partnering closely with internal teams such as sales planning, category management, supply chain, finance, and customer service to deliver best-in-class account execution.
What you’ll do:
- Build and execute strategic account plans that drive sales growth, market share, and profitability for both the retailer and Zulay Kitchen
- Manage customer profitability for assigned categories, work closely with internal teams to develop new item strategies and financials, and manage promotional spend within ROI goals.
- Own omni-channel responsibilities including in-store placement, online penetration, and digital growth/profit-related initiatives
- Work with internal teams to report POS, trends, and financial scenarios to support data-driven decision making
- Drive overall account strategy and own the outcome for customer meetings and presentations, coordinating cross-functional support as needed
- Partner with Supply Chain teams to optimize inventory flow, including monthly forecast and long-range plans
- Track milestones, manage timelines, and ensure flawless execution across initiatives
- Critical decision making based on financial analysis of multiple scenarios which drive profitable growth, understanding what comprises and drives contribution margin $ and %
Requirements/skills
- 2 years of major account sales or retail buying/merchandising experience
- Prior Walmart account management experience
- Strong analytical and financial skills with the ability to manage large data sets
- Knowledge of how to drive sales at larger retailers. Preferred sales experience working with Walmart Inc. or national accounts within these verticals.
- Excellent communication, organization, time management and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with Retail Link / Scintilla
- Ability to travel up to 6 times per year to Headquarters and other events
- Strong sales professional with strategic vision and is detail oriented and execution focused.
- Experience in durable goods categories a plus
