Job Description:
Qualifications:
• 3 years in food service, hospitality, or kitchen operations
• Experience with basic food safety and quality checks preferred
• Field or kitchen-based operational experience strongly preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities:
• The Food Quality Field Coordinator performs routine, checklist-based food quality inspections inside catering kitchens to ensure meals meet established recipes, specifications, and presentation standards. The role documents findings, submits reports, and supports day-to-day operational quality monitoring. This job exists to provide consistent frontline execution of defined food quality procedures across assigned locations
• Conduct routine food quality checks inside catering kitchens using established checklists and standards
• Verify meals match documented recipes, specifications, and presentation requirements; capture photos and record observations
• Document deviations in provided templates and submit structured reports to the Food Quality team
• Communicate basic quality issues to kitchen supervisors and follow direction on corrective steps
• Support monthly walkthroughs by gathering observations and assisting with simple follow-up actions as directed
• Work is process-driven and follows well-defined procedures. Problems involve identifying visible deviations from recipes, presentation standards, or temperature/portion expectations. This role does not create new processes or systems; it executes existing quality checks and escalates concerns when instructed.
• Decisions are limited to identifying and documenting observable issues based on established criteria. All corrective actions are directed by the Food Quality team or kitchen leadership. The role provides observations and recommendations but does not hold final decision-making authority.
• Ability to follow written procedures and standardized checklists
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in repetitive tasks
• Basic understanding of food safety and quality inspection practices
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use basic tools such as Excel, Smartsheet, and reporting templates
• Reliability, professionalism, and ability to work independently within defined guidelines
• Hands-on work performed primarily in catering kitchen environments, with exposure to temperature variations, food-handling areas, and standard kitchen equipment. Minimal risk when following safety procedures. Role involves standing, walking, and light lifting during inspections.
• This role supports consistent execution of existing food quality standards and does not design new processes or programs.
