About the Role
In this position, the Systems Validation Engineer will serve as a key technical contributor to both the Electrical and Platform level validation of ZT server platforms particularly running Microsoft Windows OSs. The Validation Engineer will be working in a cross functional team to develop and execute test plans which will verify product functionality, adherence to electrical specifications and production requirements; including SW stack and use case testing. The Validation Engineer will also debug, identify root cause and resolve issues as they occur.
Responsibilities
- Interface with architecture, design, , platform, FW and system engineering for a high degree of collaboration and leverage in all phases of the design process.
- Evaluate test specifications, requirements, strategies and methodologies for electrical validation , FW validation and platform level testing.
- Coordinate test effort preparation and track requirements, schedules and actions
- Review, track, execute, document and summarize test results
- Internal Server Research & Development Hardware Validation support
- Collaborate on automation efforts for validation
Minimum Qualifications
- knowledge servers technology and architecture. including processors, BIOS, PCIe Gen2 & 3 & 4, DDR3/4, SAS, SATA, USB, HDMI, etc.
- Hands-on experience with hyperscale or enterprise servers and storage systems (, network, storage, out-of-band management and monitoring, etc.)
- Experience in validation, testing, and qualification of hardware and/or software
- Proficient with scripting, particularly on PowerShell and Python )
- Proficient with deployment, management and monitoring of Microsoft Windows Servers (deployment of OSs remotely, etc), understanding of Hyper-V and/or Azure architectures, etc.
- Datacenter and server or storage experience
- Knowledge of computer architecture, storage protocols, PCI Express, and/or networking
- Experience creating test cases for system-level or FW validation, executing them and providing reports
- Experience developing and debugging code for in Microsoft Windows Servers
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or System Engineering
- 5 years of System Validation experience or equivalent
