About the Role
In this position, the Sustaining Engineer will serve as a key technical contributor to both the Electrical and Platform level validation of ZT server platforms particularly running Microsoft Windows OSs. The Sustaining Engineer will be working in a cross functional team to develop and execute test plans which will verify product functionality, adherence to electrical specifications and production requirements; including SW stack and use case testing. The Sustaining Engineer will also debug, identify root cause and resolve issues as they occur.
Responsibilities
- Interface and full understanding of architecture, design, platform, firmware and system engineering for a high degree of collaboration and leverage in all phases of the design process.
- Evaluate test specifications, requirements, strategies and methodologies for electrical validation, firmware validation and platform level testing.
- Coordinate test effort preparation and track requirements, schedules and actions
- Review, track, execute, document and summarize test results
- Internal Server Research & Development Hardware Validation support
- Collaborate on automation efforts for validation
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient experience with server and computer architecture processors, BIOS, PCIe Gen2 & 3 & 4, DDR3/4, SAS, SATA, USB, HDMI, etc.
- Proficient experience with hyper-scale or enterprise servers and storage systems (network, storage, out-of-band management and monitoring, etc.)
- Proficient with validation, testing, and qualification of hardware and/or software
- Proficient with scripting, particularly on PowerShell and Python
- Proficient with deployment, management and monitoring of Microsoft Windows Servers (deployment of OSs remotely, etc.), understanding of Hyper-V and/or Azure architectures, etc.
- Proficient with datacenters, server and storage
- Proficient with knowledge of computer architecture, storage protocols, PCI Express, and/or networking
- Proficient experience with creating test cases for system-level or firmware validation, executing them and providing reports
- Proficient experience with developing and debugging code for in Microsoft Windows Servers
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or System Engineering and 5 years of experience
- System Validation experience or equivalent or 3 progressive years and a master's degree
