Are you a skilled mass spectrometry professional ready to do meaningful work in a science-driven environment? ZRT Laboratory is looking for a Mass Spectrometry Technician I to join our laboratory team in Beaverton, Oregon.

Job Responsibilities:
Testing & Analysis:
- Performs high-complexity laboratory testing on patient samples using LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation
- Maintains technical competency through ongoing training and continuing education programs
- Uses ZRT’s laboratory information management system (LIMS) for testing and analysis of clinical and research samples
- Operates and performs routine maintenance on mass spectrometry equipment
- Reviews test results for accuracy and completeness
Quality Control & Compliance:
- Maintains all required records and documents laboratory activity
- Adheres to laboratory quality control policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Sterilizes and cleans laboratory equipment per established protocols
- Maintains inventory of laboratory chemicals and quality control material
- Ensures proper labeling and storage
- Ensures compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state regulations
- Maintains HIPAA compliance when handling test results
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area
- Performs safe handling of hazardous chemicals, liquid nitrogen, and biological specimens
- Disposes of hazardous waste and biohazardous materials according to safety protocols
Competencies:
- Strong documentation, data management, and organization skills
- Good attention to detail with ability to read and comprehend test results
- Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks running in parallel
- Proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and database software
- Ability to perform accurate calculations and dilutions
- Ability to work both independently, and collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational, technical writing, and analytical abilities
Required education and experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or appropriate science credits to work in a high-complexity laboratory
- Two or more years of general mass spectrometry experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook
