A rapidly growing consumer products company is seeking an Interim Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition to support its talent acquisition function during a leave of absence. This hybrid role is based in the greater Oakland, California area.
The Interim Senior Manager will oversee full-cycle recruiting across the United States while supporting broader global talent acquisition initiatives, operational improvements, workforce planning, and employer branding. This individual will step into a highly visible leadership role and must be comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
The engagement is expected to begin in fall 2026 and continue for approximately seven months.
Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to a small U.S.-based talent acquisition team.
- Facilitate talent acquisition meetings across multiple international regions to promote alignment, consistency, collaboration, and best practices.
- Partner with Finance and business leaders to prepare monthly headcount forecasts and budget reporting.
- Provide insights regarding hiring plans, open requisitions, workforce trends, and anticipated talent needs.
- Partner with hiring managers to define candidate profiles, recruiting strategies, interview processes, and hiring timelines.
- Manage confidential senior leadership and executive-level searches, providing a discreet and high-touch candidate experience.
- Develop creative sourcing strategies to attract high-caliber talent across multiple business functions.
- Deliver interview training and provide hiring teams with guidance on structured interviewing, selection practices, and candidate experience.
- Promote inclusive hiring practices and develop diverse talent pipelines.
- Leverage LinkedIn Recruiter and other recruiting platforms to identify and engage prospective candidates.
- Monitor market trends and recommend improvements to recruiting processes, employer branding, and candidate engagement.
- Build proactive talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Use recruiting metrics and analytics to evaluate performance and inform hiring strategies.
- Oversee recruiting operations, including job postings, sourcing, interview coordination, candidate communications, approvals, and offer generation.
- Lead offer discussions by aligning candidate expectations with internal compensation guidelines and approved budgets.
- Manage external recruiting and search partners for specialized, confidential, or difficult-to-fill positions.
- 10 or more years of full-cycle, in-house recruiting experience within a fast-paced or high-growth organization.
- Experience recruiting across multiple corporate and business functions.
- Demonstrated success recruiting talent at multiple levels, including senior leadership and executive positions.
- Ability to quickly manage and prioritize a high-volume requisition workload, potentially including 20 or more concurrent openings.
- Previous experience leading or supporting a small recruiting team.
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter, talent market intelligence tools, applicant tracking systems, spreadsheets, presentation software, and other recruiting technologies.
- Hands-on experience managing candidate pipelines, interview workflows, approvals, offers, and recruiting data within a modern applicant tracking system.
- Proven ability to negotiate and close candidates in competitive talent markets.
- Experience developing inclusive sourcing strategies and diverse candidate pipelines.
- Strong analytical skills, business judgment, and the ability to balance competing priorities.
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work on a hybrid basis in the greater Oakland area.
