Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Deli Cashier / Register Clerk to join our team. Duties
- Operate cash registers and POS systems to process sales transactions efficiently and accurately
- Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with basic math skills to give correct change
- Manage food service customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the deli area and checkout stations
- Assist in operating kitchen equipment as needed for food preparation or service
- Uphold food safety standards by following proper handling procedures and sanitation protocols
- Provide friendly customer service by answering questions and assisting shoppers with their purchases
- Support retail sales efforts by promoting products and ensuring a positive shopping experience
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or food service is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided
- Basic math skills are essential for handling transactions accurately
- Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be available
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude are important for success in this role
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently is a plus
