Position Overview
Zoetis Veterinary Medicine Research and Development, located in Kalamazoo, MI, is seeking a skilled and motivated analytical chemist to join our team as a Senior Associate Scientist or Scientist. This role provides analytical support for pharmaceutical active ingredients and drug products, aiding in the development of innovative veterinary medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution of analytical methods for characterization of drug substance and drug product.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as formulation, chemistry, safety sciences, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing groups.
- Author, review, and archive technical documents, including test procedures, method validation plans, protocols, reports, stability data, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemistry, Laboratory Sciences, or a related discipline, with 3 years of industry experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical sector
OR
- Master's degree (MS) in Chemistry, Laboratory Sciences, or a related discipline, ideally within the pharmaceutical sector
- Experience in executing HPLC assays.
- Experience with Empower software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret experimental data, with a clear understanding of project objectives and priorities.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve technical challenges during experimentation.
- Strong commitment to safety, incorporating it into daily planning and laboratory activities.
- Proficiency in effectively communicating technical information, both orally and in writing, including clear and concise reports and presentations.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships within the team and across departments to achieve shared goals.
- Motivated and detail-oriented scientist with a technical background in analytical chemistry
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a commitment to fostering teamwork and collaboration.
