What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Manager position at Zoet Poultry?
Overall Summary: This part-time position involves designing and implementing farm systems that include effective biosecurity procedures, site-specific safety protocols and quality procedures, and adequate training of farm personnel. Position will also involve overall administrative oversight and adaptation of plans/procedures to ensure farm is compliant with recommended guidelines of operation and addressing changing risks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assess, maintain and modify the SE prevention plan as necessary to ensure the requirements are continually satisfied
· Reassess and modify the biosecurity program (AI prevention plan) as necessary to ensure the requirements are continually satisfied
· Review and update all SE prevention plan and biosecurity program records (does not necessarily have to perform all the monitoring, but rather ensure accountability/communication with employees)
· Manage the SQF System and perform an audit of the SQF System in its entirety
· Ensure food safety of all products by strict adherence to company’s Food Safety and Food Defense System
· Learn and support the maintenance of all the plant compliance programs: HACCP, USDA, Costco, etc.
· Coordinate with QA Technicians that all quality procedures are being followed and recorded
· Facilitate training program with employees and key personnel in all policies and procedures as they relate to the SE Prevention Plan, Biosecurity Program guidelines, and SQF System. Training will be completed for new employees and annually for all employees
· Ensure smooth crossover of procedures/policies, personnel training, and documentation between cage free layer facility and egg processing plant facility
· Take corrective action when necessary in consultation with farm and plant managers
· Provide administrative assistance for egg processing plant operations as needed
Qualifications:

Education/Training:
· Minimum of high school diploma; college degree preferred
· Must have or be able to complete appropriate food safety program certifications (ie HACCP & SQF)
· Background in agriculture or food industry preferred
