Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on facility and process equipment, addressing equipment downtime, and completing maintenance/engineering projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Demonstrate safe work practices; adhere to Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Perform planned and unplanned maintenance using CMMS to record work.
- Recommend preventive and predictive maintenance tasks for improved equipment efficiency.
- Complete small electrical/mechanical projects as directed.
- Repair and replace electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components.
- Diagnose complex faults in electrical systems, mechanical components, and controls.
- Install, replace, and repair wiring, switch boxes, conduits, and other electrical components.
- Support installation, setup, modification, and relocation of equipment.
- Test electrical and electronic components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Run new power supply lines according to regulations and company policy.
- Wire control panels based on drawings and instructions, following Hydro Codes.
- Make trade calculations for load requirements and select appropriate components.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and organized workspace.
- Work rotating shifts, overnights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Lift loads of up to 50 lbs.
Requirements:
- 6 years maintenance experience in manufacturing OR 4 years with trade certification (309A Electrician / 433A Industrial Mechanic).
- Troubleshooting electrical & mechanical equipment, PLCs, robots, AC/DC drives, servo drives, motion control, HMI interfaces, motor controls, safety sensors, relays.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematics.
- Basic knowledge of single and 3-phase electrical systems.
- Operate hand tools, lathe, and mill.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and following instructions.
- Mechanical aptitude / interest.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- US Citizen, Green Card Holder, or TN Visa eligible.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred.
- Knowledge of facility equipment (HVAC, air compressors, air dryers) preferred.
- Forklift and/or scissor lift certification preferred.
Pay: $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
