A Pipeline Engineer designs and supports the installation of high-pressure natural gas pipelines. The role ensures pipelines are safe, reliable, and compliant with industry regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design pipeline routes, layouts, and valve locations.
- Plan pipeline crossings for rivers, highways, and interstates.
- Perform engineering calculations for pressure, stress, temperature changes, soil loads, and seismic impacts.
- Select pipe materials, coatings, and construction methods.
- Prepare engineering documents, calculations, and project reports.
- Support material procurement, project scheduling, budgeting, testing, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with drafting, environmental, right-of-way, and corrosion-control teams.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of pipeline engineering, steel pipe materials, and construction practices.
- Understanding of pipeline regulations (including CFR Part 192).
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering analysis software.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- 4–7 years of relevant pipeline, oil & gas, utility, or infrastructure engineering experience.
