What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead IBM i Platform & Systems Engineer position at Zobility?
We are seeking a senior, designer-level IBM i engineer to provide technical leadership for enterprise IBM Power and IBM i environments supporting mission-critical ERP systems. This role focuses on engineering, modernization, automation, and platform stability—not day-to-day operations.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and design IBM Power & IBM i OS environments (HMC, VIOS, IBM DS Storage)
- Act as escalation point for complex troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security
- Design, support, and enhance HA/DR (MIMIX or similar)
- Drive automation & Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, CL)
- Advance observability, monitoring, and AIOps practices
- Partner with business and IT leaders; mentor team members
- Support patching, upgrades, and on-call rotations as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years IBM i / IBM Power experience (10 preferred)
- Strong expertise in HMC, VIOS, MIMIX, CL scripting
- Engineering mindset with enterprise ERP experience
- Experience with automation, platform security, and compliance
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Nice to Have: Fortra tools experience, AIOps initiatives, security automation, Bachelor’s degree
Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

Salary : $120,000 - $125,000
