KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER – AEROSOL CONTRACT MANUFACTURING
Our Key Account Manager supports the Scented & Living Solutions division, partnering with regional consumer product customers across household cleaning, air care, pest control, and related categories.
The role is responsible for managing relationships with assigned customers, with the aim of increasing sales, improving margins, and maintaining day-to-day interactions, while acting as the key point of contact between the Division and the customer. The role requires proven expertise in aerosol contract manufacturing, including industrial, automotive, lubricant, insecticide, and specialty technical aerosols.
A strong understanding of line economics, SKU complexity, and propellant and valve cost dynamics is essential, along with experience in procurement-driven account management. A background that combines technical and component knowledge (cans, valves, propellants) with solid commercial execution represents the most reliable indicator of a strong fit for this role.
The role could be based in Sullivan - MO, or Somerville - NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Take care of the achievement of the sales objectives within the Account assigned, collaborating with the Key Account Director in achieving the defined strategic targets of service, turnover, first margin and DSO
- Keep on behalf of the Company the relationships with the customers’ representatives and negotiate customer contracts terms and conditions, in accordance with overall Divisional Sales strategy
- Supports the sites in the SLA discussion with the customers, ensuring that the service agreements are understood and followed by both the Division and the customers
- Checks the consistency of standard costs versus agreements made with customers on components/materials prices and on conversion costs applied
- Update and integrate price lists, to meet and/or exceed the first margin target
- Coordinates the activities of all functions with whom the customer has direct contact, to provide a consistent and cohesive service
- Ensures that any request of the customer out of the standard production is quoted, that the PO is placed by the customer and that the relative invoice is prepared
- Collaborate in the budgeting process and the related reviews
- Contributes to the new Business Opinion (B.O.) process
Requirements:
- Proficiency in English
- University Degree
- 8–12 years of experience in aerosol contract manufacturing or aerosol-led CPG/industrial sales, preferably in global environments. Strong online economics, SKU complexity, propellant/valve cost dynamics, and procurement-driven account management.
- Background bridging technical/component knowledge (cans, valves, propellants) and commercial execution is the most replicable indicator of fit.
- Knowledge of the Scented & Living/Household Care market (cleaning, air care, pest control, small consumer electronics) is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated P&L / margin discipline: experience with pricing actions, complexity fees, MOQ enforcement, payment-term recovery.
- Comfort with technical procurement counterparties (process engineers, supply chain, regulatory…)
- Experience selling automotive aerosols, lubricants/penetrants, insecticides, specialty industrial maintenance, household aerosol.
- Knowledge of propellant economics (HC vs HFO vs DME), valve/actuator selection, and bag-on-valve (BoV) economics.
- Cross-format awareness
- Demonstrated project management experience with complex, multi‑stakeholder programs.
- Skilled in navigating customer relationships under pressure and managing escalations with clarity and composure.
- Ability to negotiate, interpret commercial terms, and support contract management.
- Ability to motivate, influence, and align cross‑functional teams balancing competing priorities across multiple programs.
- Strong written and verbal communicator with excellent presentation skills
- Proven track record of collaboration with cross-functional teams
- International experience and related cultural and insightful understandings appreciated
- Diplomatic yet assertive communicator with strong interpersonal and listening skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities; ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities independently.
- Strategic thinker with a service‑oriented mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Available to travel as required ( 30-50%), willing to work in a global environment.
