The Opportunity
We are looking for a driven, personable Business Development Coordinator to help us grow our referral network and expand our presence in the Houston community. This is not a receptionist role or a paralegal role — this is a relationship-building, outreach-focused position for someone who is energized by making connections, picking up the phone, and opening doors.
You will be the bridge between ZO Legal Group and the CPAs, financial advisors, Realtors, insurance agents, and community organizations that serve the same families we do. Your job is simple: get us in front of the right people and let us do the rest.
What You'll Do
Referral Partner Outreach
- Research and build targeted lists of CPAs, financial advisors, Realtors, insurance agents, and community leaders in the Greater Houston area
- Conduct outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn to introduce ZO Legal Group and request meetings
- Schedule and confirm referral partner meetings for Attorney Onyeise
- Follow up consistently with warm contacts to nurture relationships
- Attend 1–2 networking events per month on behalf of or alongside the firm
Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain a simple outreach log tracking contacts made, meetings scheduled, and referrals received
- Provide a brief weekly update to Attorney Onyeise on pipeline activity
- Track which referral partners are actively sending clients
What We're Looking For
Required
- Confident, professional communicator — you are comfortable cold-calling and following up without being pushy
- Organized and self-directed — you can manage your own time and hit goals without being micromanaged
- Genuine people person — you build rapport quickly and people enjoy talking to you
- Reliable internet access and a phone for outreach work
- Houston-area based
Strongly Preferred
- Bilingual — English and Spanish fluency (written and spoken)
- Background in real estate sales, insurance sales, financial services, or legal marketing
- Existing relationships with Houston-area CPAs, Realtors, or financial advisors
- Familiarity with social media management (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Experience using a CRM or simple contact tracking system
Not Required
- Legal experience or paralegal certification — this is a business development role, not a legal role
- A car — most outreach can be done remotely by phone and email
Compensation Structure
This is a commission-based independent contractor role. You are paid for results, not hours. There is no cap on your earnings.
Top performers who build a strong referral network can realistically earn $1,000–$2,000 /month working part-time hours.
What Success Looks Like
We'll evaluate performance at 30, 60, and 90 days. Here's what we're looking for:
30-Day Target
50 outreach contacts made, 3–5 referral partner meetings scheduled
60-Day Target
3–5 active referral partners, first client referrals coming in
90-Day Target
8–12 active referral partners, 3–5 new clients/month from referrals
Long-Term
15 active referral partners generating a steady stream of EP clients
