About the Role: As an Estimator at Z Modular, you will play a key role in leading the estimating efforts for ground-up multifamily modular construction projects. This position requires strong technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative approach, and offers the opportunity to drive successful preconstruction outcomes across high-impact projects. You will collaborate with design teams, project engineers, and executive leadership, ensuring accurate cost evaluations, effective bid strategies, and value engineering alignment. This is an onsite role located in Chandler, Arizona. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex challenges, and leads with clarity, precision, and confidence. What You'll Do: • Leads the development of conceptual and detailed estimates across all project phases • Collaborates with design and engineering teams to align plans with budget goals and feasibility • Prepares comprehensive, presentation-ready estimate packages to communicate total project cost • Manages bid processes, including bid solicitation, subcontractor communication, and scope reviews • Supervises and mentors Estimators and Project Engineers within the preconstruction team • Drives value engineering sessions and develops variance summaries to optimize cost strategies • Presents cost data and estimates to stakeholders, including clients and executive leadership • Negotiates subcontracts and ensures scope alignment with client and project objectives • Supports RFP responses and leads estimating presentations for new project pursuits • Maintains current pricing databases and integrates market trends into project planning Who You Are: • 7–10 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in multifamily or commercial projects • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred) • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, scheduling tools, and estimating software (CAE/CAD preferred) • Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Thorough understanding of unit pricing, construction drawings, market trends, and cost drivers • OSHA 30-hour and First Aid/CPR certifications (preferred) • Eligible to work in the United States • Ability to travel to job sites and comply with all safety protocols What You'll Get: Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
