About the Role As an Assistant Site Superintendent at Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in supporting the execution of ground-up multifamily modular construction projects in Greater Austin, TX. This position requires strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and excellence. You will contribute directly to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and construction standards. You will collaborate with the General Superintendent, Project Managers, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring that project activities are coordinated and executed seamlessly. This is a full-time, on-site role based at active construction sites. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic, hands-on environments, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to develop leadership skills while driving project success. What You’ll Do Assists in developing work plans, sequencing strategies, and laydown plans to support efficient project execution. Supports the creation and maintenance of subcontractor schedules to align with project timelines. Reviews project plans, specifications, and documentation under supervision of senior team members. Participates in daily on-site construction meetings and documents key updates related to safety, quality, and schedule. Assists with coordinating and monitoring construction activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards. Generates and tracks Requests for Information (RFIs), monitoring their impact on project schedules and potential delays. Reviews submittals for compliance with project documentation and manufacturers’ requirements before execution. Supports site safety compliance by enforcing Z Modular and OSHA policies, ensuring a safe environment for workers and visitors. Collaborates with peers and subcontractors to maintain effective relationships and smooth project delivery. Assists with maintaining daily field reports, field orders, and documentation to support project tracking and reporting. Who You Are 5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in multifamily or modular construction. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience. Proven ability to interpret and build according to construction drawings, specifications, and related documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Project); knowledge of Procore, scheduling software, and CAE/CAD applications preferred. OSHA 30-hour certification and First Aid/CPR (preferred). Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills with attention to detail. Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and quality standards. Eligible to work in the United States.
