About the Role As an Architectural Designer at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in advancing modular construction through the creation of detailed architectural designs and submittal packages. This position requires strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and technical proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. It offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the evolution of modern building methods, improving design efficiency and construction accuracy. You will collaborate with the Director of Architecture and Design, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure that all modular designs meet code compliance and construction requirements. This is an on-site role located in Troy, MI. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented, collaborative environment, enjoys applying architectural knowledge to innovative construction approaches, and is passionate about modular building systems. What You’ll Do • Create modular building design packages and state submittals using Revit and AutoCAD • Develop detailed modular construction drawings and component designs • Adapt traditional architectural plans to meet modular building requirements • Assist in the development of high-quality production and construction documentation • Conduct code checks related to accessibility, fire separation, and building envelope compliance • Ensure all designs align with building codes, quality standards, and project guidelines • Support the continuous improvement of design-build processes and methodologies Who You Are • 2 years of architectural experience; modular experience a plus • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required; Master’s preferred • Working knowledge of the International Building Code • 2 years of hands-on experience with Revit; familiarity with AutoCAD • 3–5 years of experience in construction coordination operations • Proficient in Microsoft Office and business systems • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Highly organized, goal-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in dynamic environments • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technical and manufacturing teams What You’ll Get Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
