- Serve as a key mentor to the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure best practices and compliance.
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial results, trends, and variances; provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies in all financial reporting.
- Deliver ad hoc financial reporting and analysis, including pricing and breakeven scenarios.
- Create, maintain, and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Focus on documenting procedures, refining processes, account reconciliations, and automating tasks.
- Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in the development of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts; identify and explain variances.
- Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with the company’s records retention policy.
- CPA Required
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Proficiency in ASC 606 and 842
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (e.g., ERP systems)
- Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel at advanced to expert level and willingness to complete pre-hire screening to demonstrate abilities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High degree of initiative and personal drive, with the ability to work independently, think critically, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within the accounting function
- Strong public speaking skills; confidently presents financial results, strategic initiatives, and project updates to leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities
- Prior experience in Monday.com a plus
- Prior experience in ERP implementation preferred
