What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consignment Buyer position at Zippy Chicks?
Zippy Chicks has been Manchester's destination for women's consignment for over 15 years. We're selective about what we sell, friendly about how we do it, and busy enough that we need another sharp eye on the team.
What you'll do
You'll review what consignors bring us and select the pieces that fit Zippy Chicks — working from our established standards for brands, condition, and season. You'll work in our newly designed processing space and help on the sales floor when the shop gets busy. It's hands-on work with beautiful clothes at the center of it.
- Review consignment drop-offs against our acceptance standards (brand, condition, season)
- Keep items organized by consignor from drop-off through handoff to our processing team (we'll teach you the system)
- Help customers on the floor during busy stretches
- Spot trends: tell us what's coming in strong and what customers keep asking for
Room to grow — if you want it
This works two ways, and both are welcome. If you want a steady part-time job doing satisfying work around great clothes, that's exactly what this is. And if you're someone who wants more over time, the shop is growing and the people who run intake well are the first we look to. No pressure either direction — we're hiring for a good eye and good judgment, period.
