Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cemetery Groundsman/ Maintenance Technician to help maintain the beauty, safety, and dignity of our cemetery grounds. This role is essential in ensuring a peaceful and well-kept environment for families, visitors, and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, edging, planting, and debris removal
- Assist with grave preparation, burial site setup, and site restoration
- Maintain walkways, headstones, markers, and memorial areas
- Operate and maintain landscaping and maintenance equipment
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on cemetery property
- Ensure all work is completed respectfully, safely, and in accordance with cemetery standards
- Assist during funeral services as needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance preferred (but not required)
- Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Comfortable working in a cemetery environment with professionalism and sensitivity
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
