Church Secretary
Hours: 25 hours/week
Pay Rate: $19/hour

Mon thru Fri 9:00 – 3:00PM

Zion Lutheran Church is a welcoming and Christ-centered congregation committed to serving our community through worship, fellowship, outreach, and discipleship. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and friendly Church Secretary to support the daily administrative operations of the church and serve as a welcoming presence for members and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, phone calls, and emails.
- Maintain church calendar, schedules, and facility reservations.
- Prepare weekly bulletins, newsletters, announcements, reports, and other communications.
- Manage office supplies, mail distribution, and general office organization.
- Maintain accurate church records, including membership, attendance, and contributions.
- Assist pastoral staff with administrative tasks as needed.
- Support the coordination of events, meetings, and ministries.
- Protect confidential information and uphold the mission and values of the church.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Prior administrative or office experience, preferably in a church or nonprofit setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher) and general computer use.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Friendly, courteous, and supportive demeanor consistent with Christian values.
