What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sunday Childcare Provider position at Zion Lutheran Church, ELCA?
Do you enjoy playing with small children and babies? Would you like to earn a few extra dollars a month? Then we have the opportunity for you! Zion Lutheran Church in The Dalles is looking to hire two people to love and nurture our babies and preschool age children on Sunday mornings, with a possibility of other childcare opportunities for other activities at Zion.
Qualifications
· The love of children
· Minimum of two years of experience caring for infants and children under the age of 6
· Early childhood degree is desirable but not required
· At least 18 years old
· Must pass a criminal background check
· CPR certified (Zion will provide the opportunity for this training)
Responsibilities
· Staff nursery from 9:45-11:45 on all Sunday mornings (including Easter) and for the service on Christmas Eve (there may be other opportunities for childcare but these will be discussed as needed)
· Clean up nursery area once children are reunited with their family
· Create a safe, positive and welcoming environment for all children
· Be enthusiastic and intentional about establishing nurturing relationships with children and their families, to include a polite, friendly and courteous attitude to all
· With support from the pastor and members at Zion, create time each Sunday for crafts and music that are age-appropriate, faith-forming, and flexible given needs of kids
Compensation
· $18.00 an hour
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
