SALARY RANGE: $110,000-$130,000 commensurate with experience
Primary Function
The Director of MLL is responsible for the district's Multilingual Learners Program, including ensuring that regulations are met and that MLL students are supported appropriately in their academic and language acquisition development.

Minimum Qualifications
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL), with a General Administrative or Principal endorsement
- ESL or Bilingual-Spanish endorsement preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in the field of Public Education preferred, including experience as a teacher
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
- Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to focus on details, and strong spreadsheet experience
- Demonstrates ability to handle multiple priorities in a highly transactional, fast-paced environment
- Has excellent integrity and demonstrates good moral character and initiative
- Has proven ability to communicate and work with people in a teamwork environment
- Must be flexible and able to change priorities or projects on a frequent basis
- Ability to meet deadlines to work independently and make independent decisions when necessary
- Ability to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups
- Have excellent communication skills (oral, written, or business): Basic communication skills to exchange information, give/receive instructions, and respond to inquiries. Includes filling out forms

- Maintains, evaluates, and improves the district MLL and Dual Language plan and program
- In collaboration with the Teaching and Learning Department, support the development of the District and School Improvement plans consistent with District ELL/Bilingual programming accountability targets, standard-based curriculum research-based instructional practices and equitable access to high quality curriculum toward maximized academic achievement gains for all students
- Provide coaching and support to District and school personnel related to English Language Learners
- Guide the development and implementation for all multilingual related goals and objectives to align with the district's goals and priorities
- Coordinates MLL data collection and reporting at the school and district levels
- Maintains records of all MLL students and their status
- Ensure that all federal and state reporting requirements are met, including Title III, TBE/TPI
- Coordinates testing of MLL students, including WIDA, MODEL, Pre-IPT and ACCESS testing
- Coordinates MLL testing accommodations for all annual assessments
- Communicate with the parents of MLL students as requested by Administrators
- Consult with parents, administrators, counselors, teachers, community agencies, and other relevant individuals regarding bilingual/MLL students
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, the Illinois State Board of Education, and the local board policy
- Oversee the screening and placement process for both potential and identified MLL students
- Implement procedures and coordinate the process to identify bilingual students at all grade levels district-wide, including review of student data and testing of students
- Develop and conduct or arrange for staff development sessions including sessions on various instruction methods, enriched learning in classroom settings, and methods for identifying bilingual/MLL students
- Collaborate with new teacher's orientation/Induction
- Monitor grant-funded programs and their expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required
- Coordinates the Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) as mandated by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Collaborate with Communications Department for all MLL related events
