What You’ll Do
As a Teacher Assistant / Floating Teacher, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our classrooms run smoothly and our children feel safe, nurtured, and inspired. Your responsibilities will include:
Classroom Support & Coverage
- Step in as a substitute teacher or provide coverage when staff are absent or on breaks.
- Assist with lunch breaks, restroom breaks, and other staff needs.
- Maintain classroom ratios:
- 2-year-olds: 1:8
- 3-year-olds: 1:10
- 4-year-olds: 1:10
- 5–9 years old: 1:20
- 9–12 years old: 1:25
Instructional & Daily Activity Support
- Assist lead teachers with daily routines such as Bible time and circle time.
- Engage children in safe and fun indoor and outdoor play.
- Redirect and comfort children to encourage positive behavior.
- Support potty training, bathroom routines, and changing pull-ups.
Health & Safety
- Conduct daily health checks to ensure the well-being of children.
- Clean and sanitize classrooms at the end of the day, including tasks like vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning tables and chairs.
Communication & Parent Interaction
- Greet parents warmly during arrival and dismissal times.
- Share important updates with parents and lead teachers.
Team Collaboration
- Follow instructions from lead teachers and assist wherever needed.
- Float between classrooms to meet ratio requirements and provide staff support.
