Role Overview:
This role is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to be part of the core AI group being set up at the India Center for Zinier. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of and shape the AI story for Zinier worldwide.
We are looking for an accomplished AI Leader with strong hands-on technical depth and proven people leadership skills. This role will lead a small, high-impact AI engineering team (2–5 members) and drive the design, development, and delivery of AI-native products and solutions. You will play a key role in shaping our AI strategy while remaining deeply involved in architecture and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and people leadership to a team of AI engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous growth.
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of AI-powered services and products, from concept to production.
- Architect and build scalable, reliable, and secure AI/ML systems using modern full-stack technologies.
- Drive model selection, training, evaluation, and deployment across use cases.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to translate requirements into AI-driven solutions.
- Establish best practices for ML lifecycle management, experimentation, and production readiness.
- Mentor team members on AI/ML fundamentals, system design, and engineering excellence.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.
Required Qualifications:
- 8–12 years of overall software engineering experience with 4–5 years of hands-on AI/ML experience.
- Proven experience leading small technical teams (2–5 engineers).
- Strong full-stack development background, with exposure to backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Experience delivering AI/ML solutions in production, either through service-based projects or AI-native product development.
- Solid understanding of machine learning concepts, model lifecycle, and system architecture.
- Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make architecture and trade-off decisions.
Nice to Have:
- Experience building or scaling AI-first platforms or products.
- Exposure to MLOps, cloud-based AI systems, and distributed architectures.
Prior experience working in fast-paced or startup environments.
