Front of House Employee / Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Front of House Employee / Cashier to join our dynamic team. This role is vital in providing exceptional customer service, managing transactions accurately, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service or retail, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a passion for delivering a positive customer experience in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders at the register using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and food handling with accuracy and integrity
• Prepare and serve food items according to established standards, maintaining food safety and sanitation protocols
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Maintain cleanliness of the front counter, dining area, and surrounding spaces including bussing tables as needed
• Manage wait times efficiently through effective time management skills
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks when required, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods
• Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, including proper sanitation and food handling procedures
• Support team members in maintaining a clean, organized work environment that complies with health regulations

Experience

• Previous experience in food service, quick service, or fast-food restaurant environments is preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
• Experience in cashiering, cashier training, or retail math enhances effectiveness in handling transactions and upselling
• Culinary experience or kitchen background is advantageous but not mandatory
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Basic math skills for cash handling, sales calculations, and inventory management are essential
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and food safety regulations within the food industry or grocery store environment is beneficial
