Plant Operations Director

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Plant Operations to lead all day-to-day operations across production, quality, safety, planning, maintenance, and warehousing at a leading Manufacturer in the Mishawaka, IN area. This role ensures operational excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement to meet customer demand and business objectives.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Operations Director will translate strategic goals into actionable plans and foster seamless coordination between departments to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.

Target Salary: $130-$150K

Bonus: 20%

• Strong background in Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma
• Proven ability to manage complex teams and drive cross-functional execution
• Hands-on leader with strategic and operational expertise

Core Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

• Oversee all plant functions including production, maintenance, quality, planning, warehousing, and safety.
• Ensure efficient execution of manufacturing processes across all shifts.
• Deliver products on time, in full, and in compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  
  

Performance & KPI Management

• Drive achievement of KPIs: OEE, throughput, labor efficiency, waste reduction, downtime, and schedule adherence.
• Lead performance reviews and implement structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Maintain cost control and identify opportunities for operational savings.
  
  

People Development & Culture

• Lead, coach, and develop department heads and frontline leaders.
• Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and collaboration.
• Ensure proper training, onboarding, and succession planning.
  
  

Compliance & Safety

• Champion a zero-incident safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain and improve adherence to food safety and quality systems (e.g., BRC, SQF, GMP).
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Align capacity and resource planning with business priorities.
• Partner with Finance, HR, and other support functions for smooth operations.
