Lead Fire Alarm Technician

Location: Novi, MI and surrounding area
Pay: $25.00-$45.00/hr, based on experience and certifications
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 PM-5:00 AM

Zing Recruiting is seeking an experienced Lead Fire Alarm Technician for a direct-hire opportunity in the Novi, MI area. We are looking for a hands-on technician with experience testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing commercial fire alarm systems.

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems in commercial buildings

• Respond to service requests and diagnose system malfunctions

• Repair, adjust, or replace equipment as needed

• Perform fire alarm testing and inspections according to NFPA and local code standards

• Prepare accurate and timely inspection and service reports

• Communicate with customers regarding completed work and necessary repairs

• Participate in scheduled on-call rotation

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on fire alarm experience

• Functional knowledge of Simplex, Notifier, and Fire-Lite systems

• Advanced diagnostics and system repair knowledge preferred

• NICET certification preferred, but not required

• Special hazard suppression system experience, including FM200 and Halon, is a plus

• Valid driver's license with 3 or fewer points

• Minimum 3 years of licensed driving experience

• Ability to work on 6-12 ft. ladders and lifts

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

• Comfortable working overhead and in small or unusual spaces, including attics and crawl spaces

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Strong documentation and organizational skills

• Must be available for scheduled on-call rotation

• $25.00-$45.00/hr, based on experience and certifications

• Potential quarterly bonuses

• Time-and-a-half for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 5:00 AM

• 4-hour minimum at time-and-a-half for emergency service calls

• 4-hour minimum at double time for emergency service calls on recognized holidays, plus 8 hours of holiday pay
