Accountant

Zing Recruiting in partnership with a prominent Manufacturer in the Smithville, TN area is seeking an Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Accountant with 2 to 4 years of practical experience who is comfortable owning day to day accounting responsibilities in a manufacturing or operational environment. This person is reliable, detail-oriented, and strong in execution but open to grow into senior level ownership, leadership, or system champion responsibilities.

Accountant Summary

Location: Smithville, TN

Job Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $65,000-$70,000

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform account reconciliations and journal entries
• Support internal and externa audits
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes
  
  

Accountant Qualifications

• 2-4 years of general accounting experience
• Manufacturing or plant environment preferred but not required
• Solid working knowledge of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, month end close support, and accounts receivable invoicing
• Excel proficiency, comfortable with reconciliation schedules, tracking, and basic formulas
• Experience assisting with Inventory accounting (monthly close, counts, adjustments)
• Audit preparation (pulling support, documentation—not leading audits)
• High attention to detail and ability to meet routine deadlines
• Comfortable being a supporting contributor, not the final decision maker
• Willingness to be a backup for teammates and help where needed
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system
