This position is responsible for the primary coordination of the Med Ed Lab schedules and preparation. This position may also operate and maintain Med Ed laboratory equipment; assist surgeons, and support Med Ed staff during training sessions.

Job Summary

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Schedule full time and temporary employees for upcoming Surgical Skills Courses and Development Labs
- Inventory and order anatomical material
- Order general lab supplies
- Schedule lab equipment service
- Support Med Ed Managers in preparing for Surgical Skills courses
- Maintain all lab records including, but not limited to: specimens, radiology, safety inspections,
- Sterilization and washer/disinfection equipment
- Process all chargeback’s for each Development Lab
- Assist Med Ed staff and surgeons during Med Ed training sessions
- Operate orthopedic surgical support systems including, but not limited to: fluoroscopy, CAOS, and Steris equipment
- Decontaminate equipment and instrumentation in the lab

- Must have demonstrated ability to mentor new or less experienced personnel
- Must have demonstrated detail orientation, analytical assessment, and alertness to change
- Must have demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must have demonstrated excellence in customer service, relationship building, and team work skills
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to learn and independently assist with all surgical techniques
- Must be able to coordinate and schedule multiple personnel for multiple locations
- Must be able to work with Anatomical Materials
- Must be able to life 50 plus pounds of anatomical materials and equipment
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
- Must have High School Diploma or General Education Diploma equivalent.
- Associate Degree in technical field or previous experience in peri-operative setting required
- Prefer surgical Technical Certification
- Basic working experience with Microsoft Office
- Prefer experience working with and cleaning lab and surgical equipment
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and medical terminology is preferable
- Must become Blood Born Pathogen Certified
- Must have Tuberculosis Test if participating in live surgery
- Must be able to wear Lead Vest
